When homeowners think of upgrades, their minds wander to the obvious tried and true options, like changing out kitchen appliances, pressure washing the exterior, swapping out the door and cabinet hardware, and updating finishes throughout the house.

Because of this, buyers are looking for that extra room in a house that they can call their office, whether they’re fully remote or simply like to work at home from time to time.

If you have an extra bedroom to spare, change up the space and showcase it like an office. Little time or effort is necessary.  Or, if you don’t want to give up the extra space to allocate room for an office, build onto the side of the house. This option may be a bit pricier.

 Add Some Fun Extras (hot tub, pool, fire pit, deck, pizza oven, outdoor movie setup)

 Extras are fun to have and indulge in. Make memories with. Invite friends and family over for a good time.

Think about it – when was the last time you went to someone’s house that had a hot tub, or a pool, or a fire pit. Did you think, “Man, this is lame!” The answer to that question is no. No, you didn’t think that house was lame. It was totally fun!

Adding upgrades will make your home more appealing in the buyers market. Young adults looking to spice up their after-work life would be super psyched to see a pizza oven or fire pit in the backyard. Families with kids would jump at the chance to have an outdoor designated area for a movie and projector setup. It makes living life in their new home more interesting.

 Get Some Technological Advancements

Technological advances come in a variety of shapes and sizes.

Smart thermostats can gauge temperatures throughout the house, in different rooms at different times, from the touch of a button. Even if you’re not home, you can control the heat or turn the air conditioner on.

Smart alarm systems will notify you if anything suspicious is going on in or around your house. Set up a notification system to alert you and signal the alarm if you see something or someone fishy approaching the front door.

Smart lights ensure you don’t have to get up to flip a light switch when the sun goes down. They turn on when you enter the room and off when there’s no motion. There’s even smart lights for outdoor walkways.

It all depends on what you’re looking for, but we’re sure you’ll find it with smart technology upgrades. Plus, new homeowners love to feel safe with technology by their side.

Being a homeowner ready to sell in this crazy market is a hard task. Getting the money you think you deserve is even harder. But with upgrades like these, you might end up making out like a bandit. One small change at a time, and you’ll see the buyers come rolling in.
